No-one will be unmoved by the imposing Abbey of Boscodon and the belvederes of La Cagnolle and Saint-Arnoux. From breathtaking landscapes and ridable ascents (made all the more enjoyable by your bike's e-assistance) to the coolness of dense forests on north-facing slopes.

Description

At the Embrun lake, follow the Durance upriver and cross to the other side. After the footbridge, take the track right heading towards Crots. When you come to the no entry sign, continue left, cross the car park and follow the track to your left. Before you reach the "Camping Manu", cross the road and continue along the path opposite which follows a small mountain stream. Cross the N94 /!\.

  1. After the N94, go right, cross the bridge and then turn left heading towards La Cagnolle. At the Beauvillard road, you can follow its winding route to avoid the relatively technical mule track. At the four-way intersection in La Cagnolle (viewing point), head straight on downhill until you come to Beauvillard.
  2. At the chapel, follow the track running parallel to the right, cross over the road twice, heading towards Boscodon. Stay on the main path until you come to the road. Go left up the road and, after the picnic area, head up the track on the right. At the sheepfold (/!\ dogs) climb up the hairpin path on the left and head towards the Abbey of Boscodon via the road on the right.
  3. At the abbey (comfort recharging possible), go straight ahead along the road heading towards the Pic du Morgon. After the picnic area, carry straight on, keeping to the main track heading towards Le Grand-Clôt.
  4. After a series of 4 bends, go downhill along the forest trail on the right (take options heading downhill and to the right). At the fork above the Ruine Noire ravine, head left on the trail and then straight ahead along the track.
  5. In the bend with a five-way crossing, take the first right to join the Serre Verger forest road. Head left down this road and after 1 kilometre follow the trail on the right until you come to the N94. /!\ Follow this left for 150 m (Medium battery level*: 49%).
  6. At the butcher's, head left up the Rue Serre-Verger and then the Rue du Morgon following the Barnafret mountain stream. 150 metres after the Font Femelle picnic area, turn right up the Les Blaches forest road until you come to Pierre Arnoux (viewing point, picnic area).
  7. Go past Pierre-Arnoux. At 100 metres, turn left and then climb up the track on the right (DFC1 H1). After the picnic area, leave the track and climb up the path on the left. Stay on the main track which is clearly signposted.
  8. After the steep rise ("walk" mode possible), take the steep trail on the right. Stay on the main trail until you come to the water catchment. Head downhill (poorly marked path), cross the clearing to take a path on the left. At the four-way intersection, turn left. Stay on this path which cuts several times across skid tracks.
  9. After the mountain stream which runs under the path, take the path on the left which runs steeply uphill. At Le Chauchais, turn right and right again and then head straight on downhill until you come to the Pontis road.
