    Pasque flower

If all pasque flowers are identifiable by their thick but soft hairiness, unlike anemones, when they reach maturity they also have a characteristic head of scruffy hair, made up of numerous fluffy white seed heads that will get blown away by the wind. In this family, the pasque flower is the most glamorous and most beautiful. It has the advantage of flowering in spring and displays a remarkable purple-black corrola among the grass that has been faded by the winter.

Description

  1. From the main car park, drive along the resort's snow line, taking the wide track up to the ski slopes, near the Courtier ski lift. Cross the Aigue Noire ski lift, climb up to the mountain reserve (small artificial lake) and then to "Font Guillarde".
  2. At the crossroads, turn right following the blue markings. Near a sheepfold, leave the wide track for a much wilder path (there are still blue markings). After a short descent, you reach the Font Renarde hut. From the hut, continue north.
  3. At the next crossroads, turn right towards Vaucluse. Join the GR®50, which you take to the right, heading south-east. Stay on this GR® named "Sentier Panoramique". (Panoramic route) Leave the GR® and turn right onto a path that leads back to the resort and then to the car park.

Recommandations

Herd protection dogs

In mountain pastures, protection dogs are there to protect the herds from predators (wolves, etc.).

When I hike I adapt my behavior by going around the herd and pausing for the dog to identify me.

Find out more about the actions to adopt with the article "Protection dogs: a context and actions to adopt".
