As you make your way through the fir and larch trees, discover a number of viewpoints overlooking Lake Serre-Ponçon and the summit of Morgon.
This route plunges you into a forest atmosphere with views of Serre-Ponçon lake and the silhouettes of the surrounding peaks.

Description

  1. From the start of the cross-country ski trail, bear right uphill. After 50 m, turn left across the meadow towards the cross-country ski track. When you reach the crossroads, continue right across the meadow until you come to a crossroads. Continue left towards the cross-country ski trail.
  2. Once you reach it, cross it and continue along it. At the crossroads, stay on the flat left-hand track. At the next junction, continue straight ahead along the cross-country ski track. Go past le clôt des imberts and 100 m further on take the left-hand path downhill.
  3. 300 m further on, take a left fork downhill on a forest track. This leads to a track on the left which you need to take. When you reach a clearing, stay on the flat track, passing the track coming from the left. At the bend in the road, the view opens up to the summit of le Morgon.
  4. Continue left along the path until you reach a track. Take it uphill to reach the cross-country ski trail.
  5. From there, the return is on the right, taking the same route as the outward journey.

Access and parking

Follow the N94 from Embrun then take the D90 from Crots. Once you reach La Montagne, take a small road on the left to reach the La Draye car park.
