A fairly strenuous route requiring a basic level of fitness, but offering exceptional panoramic views of the Val d'Avance, Piolit and the Aiguilles de Chabrières.
After a few hundred metres of ascent and passing the hamlet of Naune Raze, you'll find yourself in the alpine zone.

Look up and you may catch a glimpse of buzzards, falcons and other birds of prey.
You will cross streams created by melting snow (which can dry up depending on the season).

Description

1) From the car park, continue along the road for 200m before turning left onto a stony path. Continue straight on to the hamlet of Naune Raze.

2) Follow the main track, before turning left at Les Gontards. Follow the path, enter the Larch grove and begin a steep climb. Turn left at the first crossroads to descend towards Les Antics.

3) Once you have passed the hamlet of Les Antics, continue along the road before turning right at the crossroads.

4) Continue along this road for 900m before turning left onto a narrow path that climbs steeply. Once back on the road, turn left to find the car park.

Recommandations

Appropriate equipment is needed to make the most of the routes.
Here is a non-exhaustive list:
- Good hiking boots (closed).
- Sun protection (goggles, cap/hat, sun cream)
- Plenty of water
- Clothes suited to the weather
- Orientation aids (IGN maps, GPS, Rando.serreponcon.com)
Herd protection dogs

In mountain pastures, protection dogs are there to protect the herds from predators (wolves, etc.).

When I hike I adapt my behavior by going around the herd and pausing for the dog to identify me.

Find out more about the actions to adopt with the article "Protection dogs: a context and actions to adopt".
